About the lecture
The Unified Structure of Elementary Particles and their Interactions has met two major mathematical obstructions. A way out of both unsolved problems is provided by the Higgs-Kibble Mechanism, which introduces the mysterious Higgs particle (known as the God particle, not in the religious sense but in the sense of the goddamn particle) into the Standard Model of particles.
The Symmetries of the Universe and the Unification of Forces are now analysed in the light of new results from the LHC particle accelerator, and in relation to the enigmatic Higgs
