About the lecture
Images obtained with novel techniques, at the technical limit, are often crucial for making discoveries.
So it was, among other cases and as is well known, with the discovery of the double-helix structure of DNA. Essential aspects of the radio emissions of supernovae, massive black holes and brown dwarfs have also been discovered through images obtained with the same very-high-angular-resolution technique, used each time in a very different way and at the technical limit.
The talk will concisely address the essentials of each of these discoveries, which have allowed us to learn the details of the expansion of supernovae, the surroundings of massive black holes and the radiation belts that surround brown dwarfs as they do Jupiter or Earth.
