About the lecture
The title of this talk echoes a common question in conservation circles, highlighting the privileged place of the Galápagos Islands as a laboratory of evolution and a jewel of biodiversity. A jewel that, like many other natural areas, faces various threats linked to human activity.
This talk grew out of a travel book about the islands. We will see what is special about the Galápagos, how the species living there arose, and why we must love them and, in the long run, save them.
