About the lecture
I intend to take a historical, somewhat allegorical journey from the biblical commandment of Genesis 3,16, the first testimony of pain as a divine mandate, through the pain reflected in the Shroud, the second testimony of pain sent from heaven, ending with the pain brought back by the men (astronauts) that science has sent into space (the metaphorical heaven) since the mid-20th century. It is a kind of paradoxical circle that closes: since humans have been on Earth, pain has been sent to us from the sky, and we bring it back from there.
