About the lecture
It has been 45 years since Calar Alto Observatory was founded. An observatory which, among its merits, was one of the main drivers of the development of astronomy in Spain and, of course, one of the foundations for the creation of the Institute of Astrophysics of Andalusia. This year the observatory goes from being Spanish-German to fully Spanish, with the Regional Government of Andalusia joining as a 50% partner. This talk reviews the scientific milestones of its history and shares the goals of this new stage.
